Minimum Holiday Entitlements for all Employees (Temporary & Permanent) are as set out in the EU Working Time Directive 1997 (et al...).
What follows is a synopsis of your Minimum Entitlements:

If you work AT LEAST 117 Hours in a Calendar Month, you are entitled to 1.66 days per Calendar Month as Holiday Pay
If you work LESS than 117 Hours in a Calendar Month, you are entitled to 8 % of the hours worked as holiday pay.

EXAMPLE 1 - You Work 150 Hours in a Calendar Month (7.5 Hours per Day)

HOLIDAY PAY ENTITLEMENT = 1.66 X 7.5 = 12.45 Hours per month

EXAMPLE 2 - You work 100 Hours in a Calendar Month

HOLIDAY PAY ENTITLEMENT = 0.08 X 100 = 8.00 Hours per month

PUBLIC HOLIDAYS

You qualify for Public Holiday Entitlement if you have worked at least 40 hours during the five weeks preceeding the Public Holiday.

There are currently NINE Public Holidays in Ireland namely:

1) New Year's Day (1st January)
2) St Patrick's Day (17th March)
3) Easter Monday
4) First Monday in May
5) First Monday in June
6) First Monday in August
7) Last Monday in October
8) Christmas Day (25th December)
9) St Stephen's Day (26th December)
