The Brilliant CV

Thousands of CV’s arrive at our Recruitment Agency every year – one minute is all it takes to conclude “Yes – this is a brilliant CV – let’s interview”. So what can you do to impress in that one minute window ??

CV is the abbreviation of the Latin word Curriculum Vitae, meaning literally “the course of one’s life”. Important and all as you are, we couldn’t care less about your hobbies or what you do in your me time – we want to know why you should get the job ! So what should the Brilliant CV comprise ?

PHOTO - Include your best shot – what have you got to hide?

CONTACT – Many people forget to include their e-mail address

EDUCATION - No need to go back to when you were in kindergarden

EXPERIENCE - Very important section – do not tell lies or exaggerate

SUITABILITY – Not many people display the confidence to write a suitability clause - This is your chance to say in your own words why you are the ideal candidate for the position advertised – be confident and assertive in your dissertation, but do not be too cocky !

HONESTY – In conclusion, be brutally honest in your CV – it’s very easy to check your details – you do not want to miss out on a great opportunity by telling little (or big) porkies !
